Renamed Dordt College
“The name Dordt will constantly remind us of the heritage in which we are rooted…” — Sioux Center News, 1956
In April 1956, the institution became Dordt College. Leaders told the Sioux Center News that the name would inspire continued faithfulness and communicate the college’s identity worldwide.
The Spirit of Dordt—seeking God’s glory in all thinking—became shorthand for the institution’s educational aims.
